Hadith 825

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ أَنْبَأَنِي غَيْرَ مَرَّةٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مِنْ أَوَّلِهِ ، وَأَوْسَطِهِ ، وَآخِرِهِ ، وَانْتَهَى وِتْرُهُ إِلَى آخِرِ اللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to offer Witr in the early, middle, and last parts of the night, however, in the end, he (peace and blessings be upon him) became consistent in offering it in the last part of the night.
