وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا يَبْصُقْ أَمَامَهُ ، فَإِنَّهُ مُنَاجٍ لِلَّهِ مَا دَامَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ ، وَلَا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، فَإِنَّ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ مَلَكًا ، وَلَكِنْ لِيَبْصُقْ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ رِجْلِهِ فَيَدْفِنُهُ " .
And the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any one of you stands for prayer, he should not spit in front of him, because as long as he remains on his prayer mat, he continues to converse with Allah. Nor should he spit to his right side, because there is an angel on his right side. Rather, he should spit to his left side or towards his feet, and afterwards, he should mix it into the soil.
