Hadith 822

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ حَجَّاجِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ حُجَيَّةَ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، أَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ ، " سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي تَعْجِيلِ صَدَقَتِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَحِلَّ ، فَرَخَّصَ لَهُ في ذلك " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this issue: If a person wants to give zakat before the completion of the year, what is the ruling? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) granted him permission to pay it in advance.
