Hadith 8204

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلْقَوْمِ ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Saying "Subhan Allah" to alert the Imam upon his mistake is prescribed for male followers, and clapping is prescribed for women.
