Hadith 8197

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ : اسْقِ رَبَّكَ ، أَطْعِمْ رَبَّكَ ، وَضِّئْ رَبَّكَ ، وَلَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ : رَبِّي ، وَلْيَقُلْ : سَيِّدِي وَمَوْلَايَ ، وَلَا يَقُلْ أَحَدُكُمْ : عَبْدِي ، وَأَمَتِي ، وَلْيَقُلْ : فَتَايَ فَتَاتِي ، وَغُلَامِي " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: None of you should say regarding his master, "Give water to your Lord, feed your Lord, make your Lord perform ablution." Likewise, no one should call his master "my Lord," but rather say "my chief, my master." And none of you should say regarding his slave, "my slave (male), my slave (female)," but rather say "my young man, my young woman, my servant."
