Hadith 817

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ يَعْنِي الطَّحَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنْ يَرْفَعَ الرَّجُلُ صَوْتَهُ بِالْقُرْآنِ قَبْلَ الْعَتَمَةِ وَبَعْدَهَا ، يُغَلِّطُ أَصْحَابَهُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade anyone from raising his voice while reciting (the Qur'an) before or after 'Isha, because in this way his other companions might become confused while praying.
