وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خُفِّفَتْ عَلَى دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام الْقِرَاءَةُ ، فَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِدَابَّتِهِ فَتُسْرَجُ ، وَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ قَبْلَ أَنْ تُسْرَجَ دَابَّتُهُ ، وَكَانَ لَا يَأْكُلُ إِلَّا مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدَيْهِ " .
And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The recitation was made light and easy for Prophet Dawud (peace be upon him), so he would order the saddle to be fastened on his mount, and before the saddle was fastened, he would have completed the recitation of the Book (Zabur), and he used to eat only from what he earned with his own hand.
