مسنَد اَبِی هرَیرَةَ رَضِیَ اللَّه عَنهMusnad of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith 8131
اُردوEn
وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي يَدِهِ ، لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَلَكِنْ لَا أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ ، وَلَا يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي ، وَلَا تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي " .
And the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: By Him in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), if I knew that the Muslims would not be put to hardship, I would never stay behind from any expedition sent out in the way of Allah. But I do not have enough means to provide them with mounts, and they do not have enough means to follow me, and their hearts would not be content, and they would begin to stay behind from participating in jihad after me.
