Hadith 8115

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ بْنُ هَمَّامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ، فَهَذَا يَوْمُهُمْ الَّذِي فَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ ، فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهُ فَهُمْ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ ، الْيَهُودُ غَدًا وَالنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ " .
Hammam bin Munabbih, may Allah have mercy on him, says that these are the narrations which Hazrat Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated to us: The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Though we are the last to come, on the Day of Resurrection we will surpass everyone. The only difference is that every nation was given the Book before us, while we received the Book after them. Then, Friday was appointed for them by Allah, but they differed regarding it. So Allah guided us to it. Now, in this matter, people follow us. The Jews have the next day (Saturday), and the Christians have the day after that (Sunday)."
