Hadith 8087

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ فَقَالَ فِي حَلِفِهِ : وَاللَّاتِ ، فَلْيَقُلْ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَمَنْ قَالَ لِصَاحِبِهِ : تَعَالَ أُقَامِرْكَ ، فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ بِشَيْءٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever swears an oath upon something and says, "By Lat," then he should recite the Kalima again. And whoever says to his companion, "Come, let us gamble," then for merely saying this, he should give something in charity.
