Hadith 7929

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ ، فَأَمْشِي ، فَإِذَا مَشَيْتُ سَبَقَنِي ، فَأُهَرْوِلُ فَأَسْبِقُهُ ، فَالْتَفَتَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى جَنْبِي ، فَقَالَ : تُطْوَى لَهُ الْأَرْضُ ، وَخَلِيلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I went with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to a funeral. When I was walking at my own pace, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go ahead of me. Then when I started running, I would get ahead. Suddenly, my eyes fell on a man at my side, so I thought in my heart, "By the friend Abraham! The earth is folded up for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."
