Hadith 7712

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ ، فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ ، وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ ، وَيُمَجِّسَانِهِ ، كَمَا تُنْتَجُ الْبَهِيمَةُ ، هَلْ تُحِسُّونَ فِيهَا مِنْ جَدْعَاءَ ؟ ! " . ثُمَّ يَقُولُ أَبو هريرة : وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ : فِطْرَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ سورة الروم آية 30 .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Every child is born upon pure nature; later, his parents make him a Jew, Christian, or Magian. Its example is like an animal giving birth to an animal—do you find any defect in it? After narrating this hadith, Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said: If you wish, you may recite this verse in confirmation of it: "This is Allah’s creation upon which He has created people; there is no change in Allah’s creation."
