Hadith 7674

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، وَابْنُ بَكْرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادٌ ، أَنَّ ثَابِتًا مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ بَكْرٍ : أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ نَائِمًا ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَأَرَادَ الْوُضُوءَ ، فَلَا يَضَعْ يَدَهُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ حَتَّى يَصُبَّ عَلَى يَدِهِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَيْنَ بَاتَتْ يَدُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you wakes up from sleep, he should not put his hand into a vessel until he has washed it, for he does not know where his hand was during the night.
