Hadith 7667

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وأَبي سَلَمة ، أو أحدهما ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ بِالنَّاسِ ، فَلْيُخَفِّفْ ، فَإِنَّ فِيهِمْ الضَّعِيفَ ، وَالشَّيْخَ الْكَبِيرَ ، وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When any one of you leads the prayer as an imam, he should make the prayer light, because among the worshippers are the elderly, the weak, and those who have needs.
