Hadith 7644

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ حَسَّانَ قَالَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ فِيهِمْ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، هَلْ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَجِبْ عَنِّي ، أَيَّدَكَ اللَّهُ بِرُوحِ الْقُدُسِ " ؟ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ .
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that once Hassan bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said to a group of people among whom was Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Abu Hurairah, I ask you by Allah, did you hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Respond on my behalf, may Allah support you with the Holy Spirit'?" Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "Yes, by Allah."
