It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the last era, a believer’s dream will not be false, and the truest dream among you will be of the one who is the most truthful in speech. There are three types of dreams: good dreams are glad tidings from Allah, some dreams are what a person imagines himself, and some dreams are from Satan to make a person sad. When any of you sees a dream that he dislikes, he should not mention it to anyone, but rather stand up and start offering prayer. Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I like to see imprisonment in a dream, but I dislike seeing shackles, because the interpretation of imprisonment is steadfastness in religion. And the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A Muslim’s dream is one forty-sixth part of prophethood.
