حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ " ، قَالُوا : فَمَنْ الشَّدِيدُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The strong man is not the one who overcomes others." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah, then who is the strong man?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The real strong man is the one who controls himself at the time of anger."
