(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا زَالَ جِبْرِيلُ يُوصِينِي بِالْجَارِ ، حَتَّى ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهُ سَيُوَرِّثُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) continued to advise me to treat the neighbor well so persistently that I began to think he would soon make him an heir.
