Hadith 743

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَانَتْ لِي مِائَةُ دِينَارٍ ، فَتَصَدَّقْتُ مِنْهَا بِعَشَرَةِ دَنَانِيرَ ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَانَ لِي عَشَرَةُ دَنَانِيرَ ، فَتَصَدَّقْتُ مِنْهَا بِدِينَارٍ ، وَقَالَ الْآخَرُ : كَانَ لِي دِينَارٌ ، فَتَصَدَّقْتُ بِعُشْرِهِ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُّكُمْ فِي الْأَجْرِ سَوَاءٌ ، كُلُّكُمْ تَصَدَّقَ بِعُشْرِ مَالِهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that three men came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them said: O Messenger of Allah! I had one hundred dinars, out of which I gave ten dinars in charity. The second said: O Messenger of Allah! I had ten dinars, and I gave one dinar in charity. The third said: I had one dinar, and I gave a tenth of it in charity. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "All of you will receive equal reward, because all of you have given a tenth of your wealth in charity."
