Hadith 7412

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَأَمَرْتُهُمْ بِالسِّوَاكِ مَعَ الْوُضُوءِ ، وَلَأَخَّرْتُ الْعِشَاءَ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ ، أَوْ شَطْرِ اللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I did not fear hardship for my ummah, I would have commanded them to use the miswak at the time of every prayer and to delay the Isha prayer until one-third or half of the night had passed.
