Hadith 7401

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ الْأَعْمَشَ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا ، وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ، وَهُوَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي أُمِرُوا بِهِ ، فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ ، فَجَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ لَنَا عِيدًا ، فَالْيَوْمَ لَنَا ، وَغَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ ، وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Although we came last, on the Day of Resurrection we will surpass everyone. The only difference is that every nation was given the Book before us, while we received the Book later. Then this Friday was appointed by Allah for them, but they differed regarding it. So Allah made it a festival for us. Now this is our day, and the next day (Saturday) is for the Jews, and the day after that (Sunday) is for the Christians.
