حَدَّثَنَا
إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا
مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ
الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ
الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ
أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : إِنَّ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ : أَكْثَرَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَاللَّهِ لَوْلَا آيَتَانِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ، مَا حَدَّثْتُ حَدِيثًا ، ثُمَّ يَتْلُو هَاتَيْنِ الْآيَتَيْنِ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَا أَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى سورة البقرة آية 159 ، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ .
A‘raj, may Allah have mercy on him, says that Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, used to say: People say that Abu Hurairah narrates many ahadith. If it were not for two verses in the Book of Allah, I would never narrate even a single hadith. Then he would recite those two verses: "Indeed, those who conceal the clear proofs and guidance We have revealed..."
