Hadith 7213

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي التَّيْمِيَّ ، عَنْ بَرَكَةَ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَمُدُّ يَدَيْهِ ، حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ " . وَقَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ : يَعْنِي فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ .
Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I once saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his hands spread in such a way that I could see the whiteness of his blessed armpits. The narrator says that this was the occasion of the prayer for rain (Salat al-Istisqa).
