Hadith 7203

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَيْسَ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ يُنَجِّيهِ عَمَلهُ " ، قَالُوا : وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي رَبِّي بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ ، وَلَا أَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي رَبِّي مِنْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ " . مَرَّتَيْنِ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثًا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: None of you will be saved by his deeds. The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Not even you?" He replied: Not even me, unless my Lord covers me with His forgiveness and mercy. He (peace and blessings be upon him) repeated this sentence two or three times.
