(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَتَقَارَبُ الزَّمَانُ ، وَيُلْقَى الشُّحُّ ، وَتَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ ، وَيَكْثُرُ الْهَرْجُ " ، قَالَ : قَالُوا : أَيُّمَا هو يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " الْقَتْلُ ، الْقَتْلُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A time will soon come when miserliness and stinginess will be poured into the hearts of people. There will be the appearance of tribulations and an abundance of 'harj'." The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is meant by 'harj'?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Killing, killing."
