Hadith 7143

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَجْزِي وَلَدٌ وَالِدَهُ ، إِلَّا أَنْ يَجِدَهُ مَمْلُوكًا ، فَيَشْتَرِيَهُ فَيُعْتِقَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No child has the capacity to compensate for the crime of his father (the punishment for the father's crime will not be taken from his children), except for this: if someone finds his father in a state of slavery, he should buy him and set him free.
