Hadith 7135

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : إِنْ لَمْ أَكُنْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْهُ يَعْنِي الزُّهْرِيَّ ، فَحَدَّثَنِي سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا عَتِيرَةَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَلَا فَرَعَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no significance in Islam for offering sacrifice in the month of Rajab, nor is there any significance for sacrificing the first offspring of an animal in the name of idols."
