Hadith 7123

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي الْقَرْنُ الَّذِي بُعِثْتُ فِيهِمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَقَالَ الثَّالِثَةَ أَمْ لَا ، ثُمَّ يَجِيءُ قَوْمٌ يُحِبُّونَ السَّمَانَةَ ، يَشْهَدُونَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْتَشْهَدُوا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best era of my Ummah is the one in which I have been sent, then the era of those who come after them, then the era of those who come after them is the best." (Now Allah knows best whether the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the third group after them or not.) After that, there will come a people who will love obesity and will be ready to give testimony even before it is demanded."
