(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ إِيَادِ بْنِ لَقِيطٍ السَّدُوسِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا رِمْثَةَ التَّيْمِيَّ ، قَالَ : جِئْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " ابْنُكَ هَذَا ؟ " قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " أَتُحِبُّهُ ؟ " قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّهُ لَا يَجْنِي عَلَيْكَ ، وَلَا تَجْنِي عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Rimthah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went with my father to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Is this your son?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Do you love him?" He said, "Yes!" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is not responsible for any of your crimes, and you are not responsible for any of his crimes."
