(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ سَمَّعَ النَّاسَ بِعَمَلِهِ سَمَّعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ سَامِعَ خَلْقِهِ ، وَحَقَّرَهُ وَصَغَّرَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever seeks fame among people through his deeds, Allah hands him over to them and humiliates and disgraces him."
