It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the son of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), passed away, the sun was eclipsed. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up for prayer, performed two rak‘ahs, and made a long standing (qiyam), then bowed (ruku‘) for a duration equal to the standing, then prostrated (sajdah) for a duration equal to the bowing, and did the same in the second rak‘ah, and then concluded the prayer with salam.
