(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ تُحِسُّ بِالْوَحْيِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ ، أَسْمَعُ صَلَاصِلَ ، ثُمَّ أَسْكُتُ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ ، فَمَا مِنْ مَرَّةٍ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ إِلَّا ظَنَنْتُ أَنَّ نَفْسِي تَفِيضُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Do you feel the coming of revelation?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "Yes! I feel the sound of bells, and at that time I become silent, and every time revelation is sent down upon me, I feel as if my soul is about to depart."
