Hadith 7020

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أَسْمَعُ مِنْكَ أَشْيَاءَ ، أَفَأَكْتُبُهَا ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ " ، قُلْتُ : فِي الْغَضَبِ وَالرِّضَا ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، فَإِنِّي لَا أَقُولُ فِيهِمَا إِلَّا حَقًّا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! Should I write down the things I hear from you?" The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Yes!" I asked, "In both states of your pleasure and displeasure?" The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Yes, because nothing except the truth comes out from my tongue."
