Hadith 7019

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُفْرٌ بِاللَّهِ تَبَرُّؤٌ مِنْ نَسَبٍ وَإِنْ دَقَّ ، أَوْ ادِّعَاءٌ إِلَى نَسَبٍ لَا يُعْرَفُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To disassociate oneself from one's lineage, even to a very small extent, or to claim a lineage to which one's relation is not known, is disbelief."
