Hadith 7018

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا دُوَيْدٌ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ قَاعِدٌ مَعَهُ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّا نَسْمَعُ مِنْكَ أَحَادِيثَ لَا نَحْفَظُهَا أَفَلَا نَكْتُبُهَا ؟ قَالَ : " بَلَى ، فَاكْتُبُوهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that once I submitted in the court of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! We hear many hadiths from you which we do not remember. Should we not write them down?" The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Why not, you should write them down."
