Hadith 6992

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، قَالَ : وَحَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا فُتِحَتْ مَكَّةُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كُفُّوا السِّلَاحَ " ، فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى ، وَيَزِيدَ ، وَقَالَ فِيهِ : " وَأَوْفُوا بِحِلْفِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ، فَإِنَّ الْإِسْلَامَ لَمْ يَزِدْهُ إِلَّا شِدَّةً ، وَلَا تُحْدِثُوا حِلْفًا فِي الْإِسْلَامِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Withhold your weapons from everyone except the Banu Khuza'ah." Then the narrator mentioned the complete hadith and said: "Fulfill the agreements of the time of ignorance, for Islam has only increased their strength. However, do not make any new agreements in Islam."
