Hadith 6951

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لَهُ : " صُمْ يَوْمًا وَلَكَ عَشَرَةُ أَيَّامٍ " ، قَالَ : زِدْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ بِي قُوَّةً ، قَالَ : " صُمْ يَوْمَيْنِ وَلَكَ تِسْعَةُ أَيَّامٍ " ، قَالَ : زِدْنِي فَإِنِّي أَجِدُ قُوَّةً ، قَالَ : " صُمْ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَكَ ثَمَانِيَةُ أَيَّامٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "If you fast one day, you will receive the reward of ten." I requested an increase in this, so he said: "If you fast two days, you will receive the reward of nine." I requested further increase, so he said: "If you fast three days, you will receive the reward of eight fasts."
