(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ بن أحمد ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ الْبَرَّاءُ ، حَدَّثَنِي صَدَقَةُ بْنُ طَيْسَلَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي مَعْنُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ الْمَازِنِيُّ ، وَالْحَيُّ بَعْدُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْأَعْشَى الْمَازِنِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَنْشَدْتُهُ : يَا مَالِكَ النَّاسِ وَدَيَّانَ الْعَرَبْ إِنِّي لَقِيتُ ذِرْبَةً مِنَ الذِّرَبْ غَدَوْتُ أَبْغِيهَا الطَّعَامَ فِي رَجَبْ فَخَلَّفَتْنِي بِنِزَاعٍ وَهَرَبْ أَخْلَفَتْ الْعَهْدَ وَلَطَّتْ بِالذَّنَبْ وَهُنَّ شَرُّ غَالِبٍ لِمَنْ غَلَبْ قَالَ " : فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ : " وَهُنَّ شَرُّ غَالِبٍ لِمَنْ غَلَبْ " .
Sayyiduna Ashi Mazni (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and recited these verses, the translation of which is: O King of the people and giver to the Arabs, I met a foul-mouthed woman, I went out in the month of Rajab in search of food for her, from behind she quarreled and showed a scene of escape, she broke her promise and struck with her tail. These women are an overwhelming evil even for the one who always prevails over others. Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to repeat his last sentence: These women are an overwhelming evil even for the one who always prevails over others.
