Hadith 688

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ نَاقَتِي وَكَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ ، قَالَ : " أَمَّا نَاقَتُكَ فَانْحَرْهَا ، وَأَمَّا كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ فَمِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: "I have made a vow that I will slaughter my she-camel and do such-and-such things." He (the Prophet) said: "Slaughter your she-camel, but such-and-such things are from Satan, so leave them."
