Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once, due to the severity of hunger, I left my house (I passed by a woman who had gathered some clay; I understood that she wanted to moisten it with water. I went to her and made an agreement with her that) for every bucket I draw, you will give me one date. So I drew sixteen buckets (until my hands became tired). Then I went to the water and drank some water (after that, I went to the woman and stretched out both my hands, and she counted out sixteen dates and placed them in my hands). I took those dates and went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (and told him the whole incident), and I fed some dates to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and ate some myself.
