It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fast three days in every month." I submitted, "I feel I have strength for more than that." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept granting me concessions until, in the end, he said: "Then fast one day and leave one day." And he said: "Recite the Qur'an once in a month." He submitted, "I have strength for more than that." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept granting me concessions until, in the end, he said: "Then complete it in three nights."
