Hadith 6861

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ ذَبَحَ عُصْفُورًا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ ، سَأَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " قِيلَ : وَمَا حَقُّهُ ؟ قَالَ : " يَذْبَحُهُ ذَبْحًا ، وَلَا يَأْخُذُ بِعُنُقِهِ فَيَقْطَعَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever kills even a sparrow unjustly, Allah Almighty will question him about it on the Day of Resurrection." Someone asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What is its right?" He said: "He should slaughter it, not seize it by the neck and break it."
