Hadith 6859

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَظُنُّهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : شُعْبَةُ شَكَّ ، قَامَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ ، فَقَالَ : " فَهَلْ لَكَ وَالِدَانِ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : أُمِّي ، قَالَ : " انْطَلِقْ فَبِرَّهَا " ، قَالَ : فَانْطَلَقَ يَتَخَلَّلُ الرِّكَابَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to seek permission to participate in jihad and said so. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Are your parents alive?" He replied, "Yes, my mother is alive." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and treat her well." So he went away, passing through the riders.
