(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّمْحِ ، عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ هِلَالٍ الصَّدَفِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ أَنَّ رَصَاصَةً مِثْلَ هَذِهِ ، وَأَشَارَ إِلَى مِثْلِ جُمْجُمَةٍ ، أُرْسِلَتْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ، وَهِيَ مَسِيرَةُ خَمْسِ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ ، لَبَلَغَتْ الْأَرْضَ قَبْلَ اللَّيْلِ ، وَلَوْ أَنَّهَا أُرْسِلَتْ مِنْ رَأْسِ السِّلْسِلَةِ ، لَسَارَتْ أَرْبَعِينَ خَرِيفًا ، اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ ، قَبْلَ أَنْ تَبْلُغَ أَصْلَهَا ، أَوْ قَعْرَهَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If a stone as small as this"—and he pointed towards his skull—"were to be thrown from the sky towards the earth, which is a distance of five hundred years, it would reach the earth before nightfall. And if it were thrown from the end of the chain, it would keep rolling for forty days and nights continuously, and only after that would it reach its origin."
