Hadith 6849

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِمُحَمَّدٍ وَحْدَنَا ! فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ حَجَبْتَهَا عَنْ نَاسٍ كَثِيرٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man began to supplicate: "O Allah, forgive only me and Muhammad (peace be upon him)." The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You have concealed this supplication from many people."
