(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قال عبد الله بن أحمد : قال أبى : وَابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ كَانَ مُنَافِقًا ، أَوْ كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنَ الْأَرْبَعِ ، كَانَتْ فِيهِ خَصْلَةٌ مِنَ النِّفَاقِ حَتَّى يَدَعَهَا : إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ ، وَإِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ ، وَإِذَا عَاهَدَ غَدَرَ ، وَإِذَا خَاصَمَ فَجَرَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There are four traits; whoever possesses them is a pure hypocrite, and whoever has any one of them has a characteristic of hypocrisy until he gives it up: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise, he breaks it; when he makes a covenant, he betrays it; and when he quarrels, he abuses."
