Hadith 6765

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْعَبَّاسِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَأْذِنُهُ فِي الْجِهَادِ ، فَقَالَ : " أَحَيٌّ وَالِدَاكَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " فَفِيهِمَا فَجَاهِدْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man came to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, seeking permission to participate in jihad. The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked him, "Are your parents alive?" He replied, "Yes." The Prophet said: "Go and strive in their service."
