Hadith 6747

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الْخَفَّافُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : لَيْسَ لِي مَالٌ ، وَلِي يَتِيمٌ ؟ فَقَالَ : " كُلْ مِنْ مَالِ يَتِيمِكَ غَيْرَ مُسْرِفٍ " ، أَوْ قَالَ : " وَلَا تَفْدِي مَالَكَ بِمَالِهِ " شَكَّ حُسَيْنٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him): "I do not have any wealth, but I have an orphaned nephew." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You may eat from your orphaned nephew's wealth, that which does not fall under extravagance," or he said: "Do not make your wealth a ransom in exchange for his wealth."
