Hadith 6722

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ مُوسَى ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو كَتَبَ إِلَى عَامِلٍ لَهُ عَلَى أَرْضٍ لَهُ أَنْ لَا تَمْنَعْ فَضْلَ مَائِكَ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَنْ مَنَعَ فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ لِيَمْنَعَ بِهِ فَضْلَ الْكَلَإِ مَنَعَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَضْلَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) once wrote a letter to the person working on his land, instructing him not to prevent anyone from excess water, because he heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever withholds excess water or excess grass from someone, Allah will withhold His grace from him on the Day of Resurrection.
