Hadith 6716

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ رَاشِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَضَى أَنَّ عَقْلَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابَيْنِ نِصْفُ عَقْلِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَهُمْ الْيَهُودُ ، وَالنَّصَارَى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this ruling regarding the People of the Book, that is, the Jews and Christians: "Their blood money (diyah) will be half of that of a Muslim."
